Dolphins Make a Splash in Georgetown

Georgetown on Saturday, January 20, 2007, nine members of the Dolphin Swim Team braved the rain, made the trip to Georgetown, and achieved best times during the last meet prior to championships.
Larissa R., 13, of Copperas Cove led the way with 4 best times including a second place finish in the 100 yard butterfly in a time of 1:37.58, an improvement of 6 seconds from her previous best. She also won her heat in the 100 freestyle with another 6 second improvement (1:17.06), cut 4 seconds off her 100 Individual Medley (IM) time (1:31.30) and dropped 3 seconds in the 100 backstroke (1:26.20) while finishing 6th.
Jennifer G., a Harker Heights 13 year old, posted 3 personal bests with a 4th place in the 100 breaststroke (1:31.79), 6th in the 200 IM (2:58.73), and 9th in the 100 free (1:10.84).
Camden H., 10, had a great day with 3 best times. He finished 3rd in both the 25 back and breaststroke events and 5th in the 50 back by cutting over 2 seconds off his time to finish in 52.58.
Chandler G., another Cove 13 year old, won both heats he raced in with best times. He placed 3rd in the 50 breaststroke and dropped over 2 seconds in the 50 free to finish with a 31.23 clocking.
Jessica L. and Burgandyee F., both 10, each had 2 best times. Burgandyee swam her first 100 free in 1:48.72 and improved to 56.09 in the 50 breaststroke. Jessica placed 6th in the 50 free with a 34.73 and swam a best time 1:39.50 in the 100 IM.
Rounding out the success enjoyed by the Dolphins, Anne M. (9) posted a personal record time in the 50 fly with a 52.79 and earned a 9th place finish and 8 year old Rebecca P. dropped nearly 6 seconds in the 25 breaststroke and finished 9th in 31.22.
